We’re interested in creating a diverse core customer panel. Gaming experience is not necessary.

Panelists will be subject to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

We’re specifically looking for panelists who are able and willing to participate in short WebEx or Skype meetings with SieEnt staff.

Start-up committed to empowering women through video games gains momentum in pursuit of Series A funding

MINNEAPOLIS – June 17, 2011 – SieEnt, a start-up focused on the development and delivery of interactive episodic entertainment, is announcing their selection as a semi-finalist in the prestigious Minnesota Cup competition for aspiring entrepreneurs. The female owned and operated video game company is one of 47 semi-finalists chosen from over 1,000 applicants. SieEnt’s business plan will now be judged against the plans of nine other high tech companies to determine entry into the competition’s final round.

While episodic video games have become popular in recent years, so far none have been designed specifically for the burgeoning female gaming audience—a trend SieEnt intends to change. The company is currently building an episodic delivery platform to showcase their first game series, a role-playing experience that will incorporate story elements, character development, and gameplay choices that have unique appeal for female players.

The Minnesota Cup announcement follows SieEnt’s participation in Project Skyway’s Boot Camp Weekend, during which the company competed against 24 other finalists for a coveted slot in the tech accelerator’s inaugural incubation program. SieEnt was the only woman-owned company among the Project Skyway finalists. The company plans to leverage their Minnesota Cup and Project Skyway experiences to further the company’s Series A funding initiatives.

The 7th annual Minnesota Cup (http://breakthroughideas.org) is a statewide competition that seeks out inspiring entrepreneurs with the next breakthrough idea. High-tech or no-tech, this competition brings together innovative business ideas from a wide range of industries including automotive, health care services, telecommunications, technology, leisure, outdoor recreation, energy conservation, education and many others. Contest judges select the top entrants – 8-10 from each division – to participate in the semi-final round of competition, from which judges will determine the top three finalists in each division. Each finalist will then present their ideas to a prestigious panel of executives, investors and notable entrepreneurs who will choose this year’s division winners and award them $25,000 – with the exception of the student division ($10,000) and the Mosaic Social Entrepreneur Cup winner ($20,000). Minneapolis-based, female-focused startup competes to be one of 10 ‘Skywalkers’

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) – June 07, 2011 – Independent video game developer SieEnt (http://www.sieent.com) is excited to announce that the company will move on to the second phase of tech accelerator Project Skyway’s inaugural cycle. Later this month, SieEnt will compete with 23 other tech companies from Minnesota, California and New York for the opportunity to participate in Project Skyway’s 3-month incubation program.

SieEnt is one of two game development companies selected as Project Skyway finalists. You’ll be reading a lot of Jennifer’s “voice” over the next several months on SieEnt’s Facebook, Twitter and Blog over the next few months, so here is a little bit about the woman behind those 140 character updates.

Jennifer Bridges is a social media and branding maven that has a passion for women’s issues, video games, and Internet culture. She’s a part-time online sorceress, part-time multimedia art wizard, and full-time family miracle worker. And on top of all that, she is pursuing a degree in Computer Animation at Full Sail University Online.

Jennifer is a veteran of the social media age, having adopted many of the top social networking platforms upon their initial release. This, along with her unique experiences, charming-yet-driven personality, and wide range of skills gives Jennifer a clear advantage in all that she does. Prior to SieEnt, Jennifer helped to develop several brands for clients in financial services, government, education, and private sectors.
